Line Spacing in Microsoft Word

  • Be sure to check the line spacing before you begin writing. 
  • If you change line spacing after you've begun writing, be sure the spacing changes for the entire document.  Sometimes it will only change for what comes after what you've already written, and you will need to select the text you've already written and change the spacing again.


Choose 'Format' and 'Paragraph' from the toolbar.

'Spacing' is the third option down; you want to change it from Single to Double.

Change the spacing to Double, and your line spacing will change.
